CPD Education in India is unregulated practice and is not governed by any state council or any association or organization associated with the CPD educational standards in India.
CPD stands for Continued Professional Development, which is mandatory in most of the developed countries, to upgrade the professional skills of medical professionals in form of CME units.
However, in India, due to negligence and failure of governing bodies to regulate the educational standards of CPD courses, most of the academies, institutes and clinics starts unethical and unauthorized practice in the form of hosting random courses without having proper qualification or certificates, mandate for them to teach specific hands on techniques.
such practices deliver poor quality of education to physiotherapy students and practitioners, leading to endangerment of patient safety and overall degrading the profession.
